I love collaborating. I applied because the idea of working with people that approach design with a very different set of skills is really exciting and I thought it could be a great way to explore some new ideas, expand my own craft practice and meet new people.

What is your feedback on the Programme?

The masterclasses were fantastic. It’s always inspiring to see how other makers create and I feel like it breathes new life into my work. Collaboration is challenging but so much fun. Having open and like minded people to bounce ideas off and ultimately come up with a shared project idea is really exciting. I learnt that you have to let the project evolve and change without being too married to any one concept. Everyone works in such different ways and brings different skills to the team and that is the beauty of collaboration.

Five top tips you can offer others from your experience

1. Relax and don’t try to control the direction of the concept too much
2. Speak your mind. Get all the strange ideas out.
3. Start prototyping early
4. Realise your strengths and weaknesses
5. Don’t overthink…just start making
