MEET THE MAKER
Using a fusion of traditional craftsmanship techniques and modern technology I aim to increase variation in design within our increasingly uniform man-made landscape. My fusion of design styles creates a unique variation of certainty and risk in the making process. Hand tools are considered high-risk workmanship reliant purely on the skill of the craftsman varying the outcome, creating a unique aesthetic quality. The workmanship of certainty is the use of technology producing repeatable accurate results time after time. The combination of certainty from technology and risk from skilful craftsmanship allows products to be cherished for lifetimes preserving hand skills alongside modern technology. The flowing curves, material choice and aerodynamic profiles within my work are inspired by precision engineering and my passion for high performance machines. I pride myself on making design my lifestyle investing huge amounts of emotional risk designing and crafting each piece. My practical approach to the design process allows me to form a unique bond with each material to exploit all its beauty.
