MEET THE MAKER

I deal with weaves in the furniture sector. My project is based on the enhancement of the artisan tradition and on the recovery of the old techniques of stuffing and weaving to give form to various textures and charming material contrasts. While closely collaborating with local craftsman, furniture elements are born: seats and coffee tables; home accessories like lampshades, baskets and carpets, which are made with yarns from various materials that are exclusively hand-woven directly in our structure. It is a tribute to the dexterity and the slowness of the craftsmanship: the choice of materials and chromatic combination represents the connection between past and future.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TAKE PART IN iATELIER ONLINE PROGRAMME?

In my opinion, iAtelier online is a fascinating project: I was looking for something like this for a long time. I am an artisan but also a designer: my articles are designed and made exclusively by myself.  I am sure that I can learn a bunch of things from  the iAtelier Online project, improving my competences and abilities. The part of my job that I love the most is the search of new techniques, new materials and new experimentations as a consequence.

I expect a  discussion, an exchange of ideas and a convergence of competences that will lead to the realization of something innovative. I believe that a technologic “contamination” is necessary in the craftsmanship sector as in all other areas: I hope that this project could help me to develop new techniques.
