MEET THE MAKER

I create unique fabrics on manual wooden looms for which I combine ancient techniques and stitches. My effort to create fabrics for clothing and furnishings is to update the weaving by passing from the design and research phase to its realization in a modern key.

I have never collaborated with other professionals but I have compared them with some interns who have specialized in weaving and to whom I have taught to weave but we have also explored each other’s skills together.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TAKE PART IN iATELIER ONLINE PROGRAMME?

I strongly believe in beautiful collaboration and in the process of actualization and modernization of ancient arts and in the possibility of passing them on but with a vision closer to the demanding of our reality, both fashion and art.

I expect that the whole process can first be recognized and studied as current and re-propose the and then that the same will be strongly contaminated by new techniques and new skills like those of a designer.

WHAT IS YOUR FEEDBACK?

The collaboration between designers and artisans is certainly the strong point of the initiative, the integrated design between these universes that over time had become very distant but which have now positively and effectively reconnected in the best tradition of Italian design.

Honestly, all the experts have given me a “lesson” and it is the complex of their interviews that has increased me.

Surely the BPS group will continue to have design ties because our collaboration has been profitable for each of us and then all of us like to explore the world in its facets so that new technologies, new skills, new professionals are welcome.
