MEET THE MAKER

My job is to create mosaics and Venetian floors, and I propose again with artistic solutions, experience technique, and knowledge of materials, the ancient craft and the tradition itself of the mosaicists and terrazzo workers of our territory. Like a trace seeker, with continuous study, historical research helps me to discover the real dimension of the mosaic and the its correct function within the artistic culture and beyond. I am very fascinated by working on realities that need to creatively express their entire universe of values ​​and to confront myself daily with projects to be carried out. In the mosaic craft everything must be thought out and prepared from the beginning, it cannot conceptually have anything to do with chance, and its beauty must be evaluated in accordance with the place it manifests itself. With manual, sensitive and tactile ability I investigate those limits and exalt them for the traits that are innate to it.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TAKE PART OF CRAFTING BUSINESS PROGRAMME?

In all the Regional territories of our Nation there are very important memories of making testimonies that the craftsman in specific interest seeks to preserve and still pass on through the value of their work. The Crafting Business initiative helps to give voice to the different craft testimonials, and I believe it will help with thematic proposition useful for understanding the specific potential of this profession in the plurality of the work system.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEEDBACKS?

I am amazed, to be talking about the safeguarding of all artisanal and artistic realities, corresponding to the traditions of the territory, these are small steps for the craftsman, and great steps for humanity.

The changes will be imminent in my career, over time I have organized myself well, I have to organize others as much externally. It is a wide field of study, which asks itself questions, which reflects on the world of the human being, which tries to define nature, to analyze the possibilities and limits of knowledge through doing and experiencing daily. A solitary, purely heroic creative doing. With this spirit I look to the outside world, with open confrontation.
