ABOUT ME

I am a ceramic designer currently living in Limerick city and have just graduated from a ceram- ic design course in Limerick School of Art & Design. I am greatly influenced by my surroundings

and decided to focus on the aspects of the city that influence me the most. My work explores the man-made habitat through which I move and interact. It reflects my personal visual experience as an urban resident in Limerick over the last five years, and this experience is portrayed through my work. The architecture of recent unfinished urban development of Limerick and the colorful graffiti and street art that is spread across the city inform the development of my work, specifically the functional ware. In developing my work, I explored the option of 3D printing as a way to achieve the

particular shapes and patterns that I intended my work to have, for example the underneath of each functional piece has a specific urban pattern. This led me down the path of digital design which played a great part in the making of my work. In the exploration of digital designing and 3D printing, I chose the apply for the iAtelier programme as a way of exploring and researching this aspect of design and for the opportunity to learn more about it and interact and learn from people who have greater experience in the field of digital design.
