@slowloom_estudiotextil
I am an artisan and designer of 100% linen fabrics on traditional looms located in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. I work mainly by pre-order, although I also do design pieces. All unique pieces.
Thanks to the impulse I have received in this training, my artisan textile company will soon open its doors as a shop-workshop that can be visited. I am at the point of making this profession in danger of extinction known to both the resident public and the tourist who seeks a different experience with a live demonstration of the technique.
I arrived by chance due to the lack of employment in my sector and it became my professional reinvention.
My business objectives are:
My goals are to consolidate the brand, create a client portfolio with which to form a club of flax lovers, grow in sales and disseminate knowledge so that it is not lost as it is a trade in extinction.
Raise awareness with the responsible consumption of natural, biodegradable, sustainable and beneficial fibre fabrics not only for people but for the planet.
My learnings from the Crafting Business Programme:
From defining my business model to defining my ideal client, my value proposition and empathy map. Understand the world of finance in a humane way, adapt marketing and brand communication to my business, learn to design other products always from a sustainable perspective, consider the option of internationalizing my sales and adapting technology and digitization to the rhythm that marks my business.
I have broadened my vision of the brand, going from seeing it as something small to having the concept of a company and consolidating the pillars of my business in terms of its structure, values, and where I want to go. Consider teaching as a future line of business by creating another source of income to support the workshop.
My 5 top tips that I have learnt on this journey:
